My Photo

An obsession, have to have it, definitely want to live there! A gal who spends way too many lunch hours at Anthropologie--browsing, making my wish list, inspired, charmed, teased, of course I have to leave with something.. anything! Ahhh..now I can go back to work, I've had my fix.

ANTHROPOLOGIE fab napkins

As promised, I scanned the linen napkin I bought today so I can show you the pattern.
Hey..it actually scanned better than I thought. I bought them in Yellow and this turquoise green. So pretty. The funny part is I'm not actually going to use them for their intended purpose, as napkins.

**I'm planning to make a pillow for my den, out of the green ones. And for the yellow ones I am using them as the bottom part of cafe curtains in my kitchen. This is my plan in theory..I'll let you know how it turns out.
I like this pattern so much I was thinking this would really dress up my cubicle walls at work. Yes, I think crazy things occasionally. (I need to act on them more often).
But I'm sure there are some corporate rules about trying to bring anything lively, colorful or stimulating into the extremely gray, insanely dull cubicle world.

Wednesday Lunch time buys.......

So I made my lunch time trip to ANTHROPOLOGIE today.
I must say that the more time I spend there, the more I want to recreate their style in my home. Maybe that's why I always leave with something... that's what they want us to think, that we can have that lifestyle too. ahh..whatever.... I'm thinking too much, we already know they've sucked me into their world and there's no way out.

So I picked up a really cool pair of cargo shorts... in this pic on the web they are green, but mine are beige (unless I'm color blind). They look better in person, super comfy and very casual. (on sale $39.)

I also picked up the mountain path dishtowel

I snatched some GREAT linen napkins with a beautiful acanthus-like pattern which of course they don't have on the web. I'll get you a pic later... must see.

Linens you love....

I'm loving ANTHROPOLOGIE's woodblock table linens! A bright graphic flourish appears hand-stamped on white cotton, bordered in rich orange.
Was $88. now $39.95

Woodblock napkins........ set of 4: $24

Great colors, beautiful pattern, on sale...... I'm feeling tempted.

ghost flower placemats

ANTHROPOLOGIE's ghost flower placemats

The spirits of daisies and acanthus leaves waft across dove-grey jacquard. Set of four. Machine wash. 14.5"l, 19"w. Imported. $24.

Great looking placemats. The color isn't right for my kitchen which is more in the shades of brown... as if I had to tell you that.

Do I need to even say it? Seriously. Aren't you just rolling your eyes right now?
These linnaeus booties should be called hideous booties. I guess I could wear them on Halloween, but other than that, come on!!!
If you would wear these, email me please, I need to meet you.
I won't post the price, because let's face it if I said ONE dollar, would you buy them?

What's with the 'shrooms?

Someone over at ANTHROPOLOGIE has a thing for Mushrooms. Hmmm, I can't say I really get it. This is the brown toadstool study, it is made of papier mache, real moss and handpainted teak. It is 68 freaking dollars... what will you do with this thing?

Wait, no it doesn't stop there. There's apparently a whole family you could buy.
This is the white toadstool study. ($58)

And the framed mushroom lithograph... for the fungi obsessed. $398 dollars for mushrooms... Ok... whatever.

There are even more framed fungi samples, but I can't bear to post them.
I guess I shouldn't knock them, everyone has their own thing. Maybe people don't get my love of giraffes or old keys. OK so you like mushrooms. I won't tell a soul I promise. (you shouldn't either.)

carousel glasses

amazing color.

Pointillist shower curtain

Yep... I like it. Of course, I have glass shower doors...so can't really find an excuse to buy.
: (

Necklaces to woo you!

ANTHROPOLOGIE has some great choices of unique necklaces right now, that I can’t pick just one. First we have the Jackpot necklace, which is supposed to be a gambling chip made in mother-of-pearl. Not something I’ve stumbled across before. The turquoise, blue green coloring is really beautiful.

Next is the Lesvos necklace-‘a petrified slice of ancient saplings’. I adore it!! You must zoom in to see the details. This is something I would definitely wear!

Look at this Abalone slice necklace. Wow!!! It's mother-of-pearl as well, but it's held by a braided silk that looks amazing!

Crazy amount of baby clothes! oh no... now I have another reason to shop....it is going to be hard to stop.
Lets start with ANTHROPOLOGIE's spelling bee fabric letters

Happy Monday!

So here's the thing........ I am NOT ready to see fall preview's or anything that reminds me of the cooler seasons coming. I know this is how it works. But I'm not looking at it. I'm annoyed. I want to squeeze every second of the summer season as possible. So don't show me your knee-high boots, sweaters and furry things. I'M NOT READY.

oK... i just had to get that out. Now I will go off an enjoy my 90+ degree day! Yayyy....

Zack and Zoe at Anthropologie

I've heard that 'Zack & Zoe's' Extremely Thick Grapefruit HandCream will be carried by Anthropologie.
Kristen Miller, founder, was a gal who suffered with allergies and was unable to tolerate products with fragrance or color. This led to the creation of her Zack and Zoe line with all natural ingredients.

I'll be on the look out for it in stores!

I've never described an Umbrella as beautiful.......

...until I'd seen this 'forest denizen parasol'! Doesn't it look like its right out of Mary Poppins?
I think its great!! Admittedly, I would not dream of spending $158 bucks on even this beauty.

I will admire it from afar, though.

What I bought

Promenade pants

I also picked up some purple glass knobs for my daughter's dressers.
These aren't the exact ones...mine are a little lighter purple and completely round.

I also picked up this great key holder made of one long metal old fashioned key with little hooks to hold your keys... Its very cute... can't find a pic though.

Of course there were a ton of beautiful things I wanted but I had to refrain myself.
Great lunch! Yum.

Count down to lunch

Here's my day:
1. 8:00 am-- arrive at work
2. 8:02 am -- devour Dunkin donuts french vanilla coffee
3. 8:05- 11:30-- work... blah blah ..work...blah
4. 11:35-- LUNCH DATE AT ANTHROPOLOGIE (this means that I really don't eat, just shop which is much less calories, but so worth it)
5. XX:XX PM- return to work.. ; )
6. 1:00pm-- share my amazing finds with you.
7. work work work
8. 5:00PM---- out of here.

Anthropologie fitting room

..
(miyuki.tanaka /flickr)

This is what men do in Anthropologie

I love these photos of men reading magazines while waiting for their ladies to finish shopping in Anthropologie. (I'm sure they get to read that mag from cover to cover)
Hey.. at least these women get their men to accompany them, mine would not even consider stepping foot in the stores with me. : )

(photos from Redjar.org)

I've missed you... Anthropologie!

I am back ... well I came back on Sunday. Back to work yesterday. But you know I'm still not really, fully back. I need a shopping spree, badly.
Had a great time, feel very refreshed and relaxed. Gosh... I wish I could vacation at least once every couple months! There's nothing like the blue green waters and the fabulous warm sun of the Caribbean!
Ok.... I better snap back to reality. I have some browsing to do. I see lots of new things to oogle over on Anthropologie.com.
