My Photo

An obsession, have to have it, definitely want to live there! A gal who spends way too many lunch hours at Anthropologie--browsing, making my wish list, inspired, charmed, teased, of course I have to leave with something.. anything! Ahhh..now I can go back to work, I've had my fix.

Time to shop..............

I love Anthropologie's catalogs. The pages inspire me and give me ideas. I love them so much, I've torn out some of the pages and hung them on the wall in my cubicle. Here's the thing...
I work in a field totally unrelated to fashion(Technology) and I work with ALL Men!! So when they see this collage of fab photos ...they ask 'What's that?' 'Why do you have that?' 'I don't get it'. OF COURSE you don't get it...sweetie, please just keep walking. Thx

Here's what I'm digging today.....
this sweater is called the Hideaway Cowlneck. I like the two-toned tiered waist and belled cuffs. $188.

I have seen this Thebes velvet robe in person, and let me tell you, the fabric feels so rich and soft. It feels very royal. Love it! $148.

I'm loving Anthropologie's Peppermint Tea Dress!! I will find an occasion to wear this, I'll create one if I have to. It's just perfect. Did I mention brown is my favorite color?

Rain..Rain... go away

Well..the rain prevented me from taking my lunchtime stroll through Anthropologie today. Why you ask? For some reason when it rains, people forget how to drive or become paranoid and the traffic becomes horrendous around here.
So I have to get my fix online........here are my faves today:

Hermione heels $88.00
Oohhhh....this shoe is way tooo pretty! I wish the heel was shorter than 3". I am very tall(5'11")..so this is a little over my maximum, but its so beautiful I might break my own rules! Especially if it feels good on!

le petit amour junior apron
$24.
My little girl will love this apron. She wants to be just like her mommy, so its perfect!
Very charming...

Lunch & Sale...perfect together

So, today I took my lunchtime stroll through Anthropologie... and picked up a few gems.. I don't see all the pictures online because they are Sale items, but I'll tell you what I snatched up.
I bought a beautiful photo album...in teal with a fabulous velvet ribbon on the front, a little velvet teal journal and a curtain panel in a lovely green and teal pattern... I have no idea what I am going to do with it..but I loved it. I will make something out of it if I must.
They had these great lamp shades that I keep thinking about... I will have to go back tomorrow to get them.

Here are a couple of cute SALE things I saw online...
ribbon hamper bag $14.95
Black-and-white bows mix and mingle with orange blossoms on this ruffled canvas laundry bag. Drawstring closure. 30"w, 20"h. Machine wash. Lime sherbet. Imported.

pink hothouse bedding
Reminiscent of vintage sackcloth prints, this multicolored collage of vines and blossoms evokes bucolic charm. Dry clean. Pink. Imported.

Pink Hothouse quilt was $148-168 Price: $74.95-$84.95
Bedskirt was $68-$78. Price: $34.95-$39.95
Shams-set of 2 was $58-$68 Price: $29.95-$34.95

These boots are made for .... Halloween maybe?!

Wow is all I can say here. I just saw these online, they are called Mickey Boots. They certainly will make a statement, but I'm not sure what the message is you are trying to get across. They look like they are 300 years old!
They are so crazy looking, I can't believe someone would spend $398. dollars on them.
If you'd buy these, please tell me what you would wear with them. I would love to know.

Flats to die for...

I don't know if I can describe a shoe as breath taking, but when I saw these I inhaled and was silent! I'm in love!
I would love to pair these with my favorite jeans. I like to off set the feminine with something a bit more rugged.
Rhinestone Ballet Flats ($368.)

It bears repeating...

Just some excerpts from Fast Company's article titled 'Sophisticated Sell', Issue 65, Dec 2002.

I love this article because as I am reading it, I find myself exclaiming, YES, YES, YES that's it! Shouting almost orgasmically (I might have just made up that word, play along). But its true, and if you are are like me, you might want to turn down the baby monitor while you are reading. Your husband might wonder what you are doing in that room by yourself.

"Why are so many women so passionate about shopping at Anthropologie? Because Glen Senk and his colleagues aren't just selling clothes and furnishings. They're selling a sense of Adventure and Originality-- and the promise of Self- Discovery." May I interject a YES here!

"This vibrant, women's clothing and home furnishing chain has cultivated a shopping experience unlike almost anything else in retail today. Your peripheral vision is activated. There's so much to take in that you can't focus on any one thing." YES!

" 'One of our core philosophies,' explains Anthropologie president Glen Senk, 'is that we spend the money that other companies spend on marketing to create a store experience that exceeds people's expectations. We don't spend money on messages--we invest in execution". Oh yes, you do.

"We have one customer and we know exactly who she is. ... a demographic profile: 30 to 45 years old, college or post-graduate education, married with kids or in a committed relationship, professional or ex-professional, annual household income of $150 to $200K. Senk says: I like to describe her in psychographic terms. She's well read and well-traveled. She is very aware-- she get's our references, whether its to a town in Europe or to a book or a movie. She's urban minded. She's into cooking, gardening, and wine. She has a natural curiosity about the world. She's relatively fit." Go ahead and say it...

"The attraction of Anthropologie is that it revels in the nuance and complexity of these women and the world they live in. And the power of its approach lies in its ability to create a vibrant, comfortable zone where they can put the puzzle of the multiplex, hybrid lives together." Ummm ...hmmm. YES!
Wonder no more, why I keep coming back.

When I first look at this blouse, it almost looks royal! Its called the velvet seedlings wrap. $188

I have to admit that my favorite things in Anthropologie are not the clothes but the Home and Accessories stuff. I actually want to jump into their beautiful bed displays, kick off my shoes, and read a magazine. See now that would be a great lunch!

These gorgeous velvets on the right...were my first curtain purchase!
Yummm.

All things Anthropologie...
