تمثل ماكينات القطع بالتحكم الرقمي الحاسوبي (Computer Numerical Control - CNC) قفزة نوعية في دقة وسرعة الإنتاج في مختلف الصناعات، وهي تُستخدم لقطع وتشكيل المواد الصلبة بدقة ميكرومترية لا يمكن تحقيقها يدوياً.
ماكينات التوجيه (CNC Routers): تستخدم هذه ماكينات تلبيس الحلوق أداة قطع دوارة (ريشة/راوتر) لقطع المواد الصلبة مثل الخشب، والبلاستيك، والأكريليك، والألمنيوم. تتميز بقدرتها الفائقة على تنفيذ قطع مستقيمة ومنحنية، ونقش تفاصيل معقدة، وعمل جيوب وثقوب. يتم تزويد الماكينة بالرسم المطلوب (بصيغة G-Code)، ثم يقوم الحاسوب بالتحكم في حركة أداة القطع في محاور ثلاثية (X, Y, Z)، مما يجعلها مثالية لإنتاج قطع الأثاث المعقدة، والزخارف، واللافتات ثلاثية الأبعاد، وتشكيل القوالب.
مراكز التشغيل (Machining Centers): وهي نسخ متقدمة من ماكينات CNC، مصممة خصيصاً لقطع المعادن وتشكيلها (مثل الفولاذ والنحاس والتيتانيوم). تتميز بهياكلها الصلبة، وقدرتها على تبديل الأدوات آلياً (Automatic Tool Changer)، وقدرتها على تبريد أداة القطع، مما يجعلها أساس الصناعات الثقيلة وقطع الغيار المعقدة.
