Pretty presents

This picture is from a post I made awhile ago. But I wanted to show you the pillow I bought today. It's the one on the top with the brown, pink and cream.

Though I really wanted it for myself, I'm not keeping it. It will be present for a special someone who has the exact same taste as me! So I know they will love it!

More December goodness.....

from Anthro's December catalog............how's the holiday shopping going my friends? I'm off to a slow start...but I'm finding gifts I really like for others. So that's a plus.
I'm trying, really trying to buy more handmade things. That's easy for myself, but a little harder for gifts. But I'm not giving up. I'm checking out out ETSY constantly.

Leaving nothing to chance.........

Every year, our family asks us 'what do we want for Christmas' or Hanukkah, etc, right? And what do most of us say.... 'oh, I don't know'. Yeah, sometimes we can think of something. But most times, I find myself saying 'I don't know'.

Well not this year, if you ask me I will say 'a gift card to Anthropologie'. If you're really stuck and can't find something........I will certainly be happy will this little present!

(But if you know me... you should probably know this already ; )

So, speaking of shopping, I want to know who is getting up before the rising sun on Black Friday to go shopping? I can't believe that certain stores are opening at 4AM. So raise your hand if you will be on that crazy train! I think the earliest I have gone is 7:30 and only once.

Spotlight: Anna Maria Horner

Did you happen to catch designer Anna Maria Horner on Martha Stewart last Thursday? You can view the video on Martha (archives for the 15th).

I was thrilled that she got such a wonderful opportunity. She's such a talented lady and a mom of 5! (how does she do it!) I love that she shares all her creative adventures through her blog. She also shares some of the details from that day on the show with Martha, so check out her blog.

And I have to mention that Anna Maria is wearing Anthropologie's Sunbeam Cardigan. Very nice!

Time is flying by... December is near

Thanksgiving is almost here. Are you ready? Soon we will begin the shopping frenzy. Some of you may have started, I only wish I did. And then December will be here in 2 short weeks, I can't believe it.

I already started making some Christmas-y things... decorations of sort...see here for a peek.

Speaking of next month, I know you will seriously LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Anthro's DECEMBER catalog!

It's just plain beautiful and the styling is great in my opinion. So much to look at. I love that they added other people in the photos, especially guys! I love the real flowers sprinkled on the floor and on the walls in some and the images where everything is wrapped in kraft paper. I could go on and on....but take a look at a few for yourself.

Hope this is the beginning of an easy and quiet work week for you!~~

Sometimes matchy matchy is cute...

Like mama and daughter aprons, that noone else will see! Except these are so pretty I wouldn't mind wearing them out!!! It makes you want to bake something yummy, and sweet that certainly won't be guilt-free!

so now my lamp doesn't match the lamp on the other side of the bed... but I could care less.

The little ceramic playing card you see on the table is John Derian. I picked them up at last year's Domino Bazaar.

Even though this isn't a great pic, I had to show you a close up of this night table. It belonged to my husband's grandparents and it certainly looks like it. But I still love them. I suppose I should get it refinished, but either way I think it's practically perfect!

SOHO shopping....

I am the proud owner of the oh-so-coveted Flavia Del Pra lamps!!!! I snatched one up from the Soho Anthro this weekend and couldn't be happier with it!

Here's the funny thing... I didn't really know mine was a mis match. If you look at the 2 lamps on top that is how they are sold, The Bahia has the pale green base with the bold floral brown shade and the Technicolor has the pink base and the creamy floral shade.

Well when I was there they had 2 lamps with the pink bases and those 2 shades. So I decided I like the combo you see on the bottom the best. I'm pretty happy with it even knowing that's not how it was meant to be. What do you think?

I took some photos of it in my room. I'll show you soon.
